Woohoo! Today was great. As much as I HATE taking a day off,
it really helps. Today I added the seventh lap. Yes, yes I did. I know I said I
wouldn’t add it until Monday but I felt so good I added it today and I tracked
my distance, time and speed. According to my tracking device (we’ll get to that
later), I ran/walked 2.6 miles! Now I
only went around the track 7 times right? So how did I do 2.6 miles you ask?
Well since I use the actual lanes (which are numbered) to track the number of
times I go around, it turns out I’m doing a little more than 1 lap as the
outside lanes are longer in distance. AND I tracked me walking back to my truck
from the track field as the parking lot is a short distance from the
track. That totaled 2.6 miles! Let’s not
discuss the time. That’s personal. I’ll share that when I get closer to my
goal. Lol. I will tell you though it was not that bad.
Anyway, let’s get to how I was able to track my time. No, it
was not the fancy Inspector Gadget watch that I overpaid for. I gave up on that thing yesterday and did
something my darling friend told me to do when I first started this whole not
training for a marathon thing, I found an app on my Iphone. Yes, R.S. you were
right.
I will tell you this Nike + application is EVERYTHING I
needed. It plays my music, has a “power
song” button, and a woman (with a pleasant voice) let’s you know your progress
throughout your walk/run. The app gives you what you need without being so
complicated that you have to take a course on how to use it before your run.
No, Nike is NOT paying me but I had to tell you all about it. Now that I have
this app, all I need that fancy dandy watch for is to keep track of my heart
rate. Whoopity doo, right?
Well I have to go, there’s more to tell you that involves
another dog, a woman on a bike and a group of long-haired hippies sitting outside
the school but I have to begin my day. I’ll fill you in tomorrow.
Until then…
Ms. P.
