Well folks I overslept for the first time in a long while. I
woke up at 6:36 am. I was so tired last night I don’t even remember getting
into my bed. I think I fell asleep in the shower and slept-walked there because
all I remember is that around 12:30 am I got into the shower and then the next
thing I knew was that I woke up at 6:36 in the morning. My body really needed
that rest. I don’t normally sleep that many hours straight because my body is
not set up that way so when I do, I know that I am really, really tired.
I get to the track at around 7:30 because of course I had to let Sara out, feed her and coax her back into her crate. She has now realized that life outside of that crate is amazing so now she is not too eager to go back into it. The only time she happily gets into that crate is if we have really exercised her and she is nice and tired.
As started my last lap, I decided that I wanted
a power song to finish it with so I could sprint half of the lap (if I could). Now remember I am no longer wearing my little
running jack with the easy to reach pockets on the side. I’m now wearing the
fancy money belt to hold my Iphone and keys. I reach down to unzip the money
belt to get my Iphone out and the zipper pops off. Talk about cheap
manufacturing. I then had to figure out how to get my Iphone out of that damn
money belt because I wanted to change
the song and of course I had to stop the time on my handy dandy Nike app once I
was finished with the run/walk. I have
to stop the clock once done or my time would be recorded incorrectly. So as I
was speed walking, I had to figure out how to rip the money belt open and maintain my current speed whilst
doing so. You know I was NOT happy right?

I arrived at the track and I was feeling very well rested. I
started out with a light jog, which is the opposite of what I normally do. I
usually start off speed walking and then go into a run. I had so much energy
this morning I decided to get as much running as I could in that first mile.
That turned out to be a good thing because my time was definitely better than it
was on Day 23. Today, I did 2.47 miles in total and shaved
about 30 seconds off of my time. I would have done better on my time but I had
a small catastrophe happen.
I finally had to discontinue walking, take off the stupid
money belt and rip the damn thing open in order to get to my Iphone. I told you
all I hate change. I should have just continued running/walking with the little
jacket with the pockets and avoided all this drama. I then changed the song to
a “Power Song” and sprinted for as long as I could and finished the rest speed
walking. As I passed an opening in the gate that circled the track, I noticed
there was a garbage can next to it. I tossed that raggedy money belt into it
and called it all kinds of sons of a … I said I wouldn’t cuss right?
All and all it was a great run/walk today. My time was better even with the money belt
catastrophe. Tomorrow I will be back with my little jacket to hold my keys and
Iphone. You know the old saying, “If’ it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”
Until tomorrow my friends…
Ms. P.
