I can’t believe that it’s day seven. This is
officially one full week of me NOT training for a marathon. Of this full week,
I went to the track SIX times! I’m so focused right now I may actually sign up
for a marathon. I’m just kidding. It’s not going to happen. My friend is trying
to convince me to sign up for one AND run the 5K. First of all, 5K sounds like
FOR-EV-ER. I am NOT running forever. I like my goal of doing 2 miles, which technically is only about 1 mile
less than 5K, but 2 miles sounds a whole lot easier than 5K. My initial goal was to run 2 miles without
stopping. I figured if anything/anybody chases me further than 2 miles, they
can have whatever it is they are chasing me for. That goes for everybody (i.e. dogs,
zombies, criminals and leprechauns). I’m not sure I would run 5K for or from
anything. Wait, I ‘d run for $100,000 and up. Yeah, that’s good. Any takers?
Anyway, I did the six laps today. I did a little better than I did yesterday, I
think. I may have to go get myself one of those sporty stop watches to keep track
of my time. The only types of watches I have don’t have any numbers on them. My watches only have the two hands and a big
dot on the top. I’m sure you know which watch brand I am referring to, but I
refuse to keep naming products that are not sponsoring this blog. I may also have to get a pedometer because
when school starts I may not want to share the field with a bunch of junior
high school kids. I never thought I would ever utter these words but I think I
may also have to add a fanny pack to the list. Stop laughing! I think I need
one. I mean I have my phone and keys that I have to carry and sometimes they
fall out of my pocket like when Marmaduke and Puggie were chasing me. Had I had
a fanny pack, everything would have remained neatly tucked in it.
All and all, as I said today was a little
easier than yesterday. I guess there is truth to the saying “everyday you get a
little better.” Don’t get me wrong, I know some days I may not see a difference
or may actually do a little worse but the good thing is that I am doing it,
unlike BabyGenius who opted to stay in the bed today. Actually so did everyone
in my neighborhood. I was the ONLY person on the track. I guess Fridays are
officially “No Track” day around here. Well, not me. I have come to love my
daily walk/runs. Humph!
Ok now that I think about it further, that’s
going to be a “NO” on the fanny pack. I can’t imagine myself with that thing
strapped to me. I’m already geeking out getting a pedometer and a sports watch.
Forget I ever typed that whole fanny pack thing.
Well that’s it for today. I will catch up with
you folks tomorrow. Enjoy your day!

You're doing great! You know, you can avoid havingtwo more things to keep track of by downloading an application to your phone. It is like a pedometer and timer in one. Keep going and soon enough you'll be running those 6 laps and adding the extra two laps to achieve your goal. *fist in the air like Daisy*
