Today was not good at all. You probably can tell because I
am posting this update at 8:30 in the evening. Normally I do my posts right
after my run/walk in the mornings, but today I was pretty sick all day. My energy was low and I
felt like I was carrying a fifty-pound bag on my shoulders.
I went to bed pretty late last night. It was a very long
day. I hate to admit it, but I think I allowed myself to get dehydrated. The
sad thing is, I did not realize until after I tried to run/walk at the track
this morning. As I said, I went to bed late and then I got up early, which I do
often and thought nothing of it. I let the dogs out for a while and headed to
the track. I was a little late getting there and the sun was blazing. I thought
nothing of that either, as I have run/walked later in the morning when the sun
was fully out before and there wasn’t a problem.
I ran the first lap around and was pretty good up until
about the third lap. I then got really, really
tired. I tried telling myself it was the devil lying but I knew that it was
more than that. I pushed myself as long as I could but then started feeling
light-headed. I finished up the last lap (of course walking) and headed to my
car. Can I tell you that it was the longest walk EVER in the history of all
walks. I ran/walked a total of 1.5 miles this morning and I felt like I walked
to Africa and back.
When I finally made it to my truck, I had to sit there for a
minute with my head tilted back before I headed home. I immediately went
upstairs, took a shower and got into bed. There I stayed for the better part of
the day. When I finally did come back downstairs, I only did it to venture to
the sofa so that I could see my puppies. I remained there until about an hour ago
when I finally started to feel like myself again. I have been drinking water
all day and only wanted fruit to eat.
I really have to make sure I eat and drink properly if I’m
going to get up and run/walk everyday. My diet was fine for what I did prior to
run/walking but I have to remember that I am burning a lot more energy and must
properly refuel or I’m going to crash like I did today. That was not a good
feeling.
Well hopefully, I will be at 100% by tomorrow. If not, I
will just walk the track instead of walk/run. I refuse to take the day off. I
just took a day off two days ago. Besides, walking never killed anyone. Unless
whilst walking, they tripped on a curb, fell and hit their head on a random
rock and then got run over buy the number 42 bus because the bus driver didn’t
see them lying in the street due to the fact that he was flirting with a female
passenger wearing a tight red dress.
Anyway folks until tomorrow…
Ms. P.
