I’m back! And it feels so good. I did 3.28 miles this
morning and I ran a LOT more than I normally do. I’m not saying taking two days
off in a row is a good thing but it may not have been a bad thing.
Oh yes, and Happy Birthday to me! I told you all yesterday
in my “Post of Shame” that I was not taking the day off because of my birthday.
Today is Day 39 and I am 39 years
old today. I couldn’t have planned this better had I tried. Did I just say
“39?” I meant to say 29. Silly me. Forgetting my own age. J
So I got up at 6:38 am this morning and yes, I was late. Let’s
not focus on that but this is becoming a habit, huh? After feeding the puppies and playing with
them for a little while, I headed over to the track. Daisy was there and so
were two other women I hadn’t seen before. I really have to stop calling that
woman Daisy because this morning when I said hello to her I almost called her
“Daisy” to her face. That would not have been good. There was also a young guy
there who I will call Olympic Oscar because dude was running around that track
like he was a racehorse. He had the typical athlete body and was not afraid to
show it. He was tanned from head to toe. I'm assuming because I couldn't see his toes. I darn near saw everything else though. He had on some really, really
short shorts and after his first time around the track, he removed his shirt. I
wasn’t mad at all. A little eye candy on the track never hurt anybody. That is
unless whilst gawking at the eye candy, they tripped and fell, then hit their head
on the side of the fence on the track which happened to have a loose piece
sticking from it and it poked them in the eye…
Anyway, after walking from my vehicle around the school
building and onto the actual track field, I immediately started off jogging. I
jogged almost the full lap around before I had to slow down to a brisk walk. I
only walked a few yards before I went back into a jog. I did it that way for
the first four laps around the track and then towards the end of the 3 miles, the
run/walk ratio became more walking and less running. I didn’t want to push so
hard that I wouldn’t be able to make it back to my vehicle. I did not need
Olympic Oscar seeing me passed out in the middle of the track.
Well folks I have to get to work, yes even on my birthday!
Until tomorrow…
Ms. P.
