I’m afraid I’m getting more like my dear friend R.S. She
hardly ever posts on time. I really must do better because I chastised her for not
posting and now here I am posting Day 43
on Day 44. It wasn’t even like I ran/walked at all on Day 43. It would have taken me all but
one minute to type “Day Off” but I guess that would have been doing too much.
On Day 42, I did
3.34 miles and I was so proud of myself but had I had known then what I know
now, I probably would have taken off Day
42 and ran/walked on Day 43
instead. That way I would have had two consecutive days of walking/running
instead of having to take off on Day 43
because Day 42 was a DOOSIE to say
the least. Day 42 involved a lot of
city walking (which wasn’t bad) and steep stair climbing (which was really bad)
ALL DAY. It wouldn’t have been so hard had I not already ran/walked 3.34 miles
in the morning. My muscles were already in recovery mode.
See, one of the artists I work with did a particular
television show on the USS Intrepid in Manhattan. First of all if you know
anything about Manhattan, you know you have to park in damn near Africa to get
to China. So of course I had to park nowhere near my destination, which meant
walking a couple of blocks to the Intrepid to start off.
Then once I get there, I find out that green room was downstairs (three steep flights) on the
lower deck and the concert was on the top deck. Needless to say, I had to run
up and down the stairs all day. My thighs and buttocks were killing me by the
time I left the city so I opted to take the day off. I was so tired, I couldn’t
even blog about being tired the next day. Oh did I mention one flight of stairs was on the
outside of the boat and I had to avoid looking down at all that water lest I
pass out from vertigo? Apparently in my old age, I’ve become none to fond of
heights.
In any event, I did not feel the least bit shamed for not
exercising on Day 43. I did however
prepare myself to get it in on Day 44,
which we’ll get to in a moment. I enjoyed my day off and avoided going up and
down my own stairs too much for the day in order to allow my butt muscles to
recuperate. It did give me an idea for an additional daily workout. I will now
go up and down my own stairs more often during the day to work on those gluteus
maximus muscles. Every time I have to go up them, I will immediately go back
down and go back up them again and then go to wherever I was heading. What do
you think? Sounds good right? We’ll see how that plays out.

There you go already planning to add on to your workout because clearly running/walking almost 3.5 miles daily isn't enough. Now what are we doing to do about you blogging late again? That reminds me...I should go and update mine now from this weekend. Before we know it you will be running a 5k up and down your stairs.
