Day 48

Good morning folks. I’m back on track. At least on the track field that is. I must realize that I cannot allow my hectic life to hinder my morning walk/runs. I may be liable to hurt someone if I miss too many run/walk days in a row.

Anyway, today’s run was pretty ok considering an idiot brought his dog to the track. I managed to get 3.34 miles done and my time was definitely not record breaking. I probably could have or come close to it but since I had to let Funky Fido smell my butt and lick my hands after slowing down to a walk when I wasn’t ready to because his master Funky Frank decided it was okay for him to bring his dog to the track UNLEASHED and for him to walk ½ a mile behind the mutt and the mutt decided to run straight at me because I must look like a large dog treat to dogs because somehow they always seem to come to me no matter who’s around. Talk about a run-on sentence…

I’m sorry but I don’t understand why people who bring their dogs to the track (which is against the rules anyway) feel it’s ok for them to keep them unleashed. I would never bring my dogs somewhere they don’t belong and then have the nerve to keep them off the leash. I don’t care how trained and well behaved your dog is. Not everyone wants a dog sniffing at their butt or bothering them because you like dogs. If you want your dog to run freely, then take them to a dog park. Not a track field. I’m not blaming Funky Fido but today I noticed poop on the track. I’ve had enough at this point.  I’m calling my town legislator later today to find out who in fact are the track police and how come they are not doing their jobs. I pay a lot in property taxes and I don’t want dogs or poop on my track field and I have the right to walk on the damn track without being harassed by dogs. If I want to be bothered by dogs, I’d ignore the rules like everybody else and bring my own.

Whew! Ok, I feel better now. I’m probably not going to call anyone because I’m not a snitch and I don’t have time anyway but I am pissed. If you are a pet owner (which I am), you should be considerate to other people who may not be. That’s YOUR pet. Keep him on your property or leashed when not on your property and clean up after him. The End.

Anyway, I have class today so I must get going. Did I mention I ran/walked 5k today? I was so busy venting about dogs, huh? I’m also getting better at running most of the first two laps without any walking at all. I think that’s pretty good considering I’ve only been doing this a month and a half now.

So until tomorrow…

Ms. P.
